Redline Prep ("Redline," "we," "us") built this app for automotive technicians studying for ASE certification. This policy explains what we collect and what we do with it. The short version: your study data stays on your device, and we don't sell anything about you.
If you use Redline without an account, your study progress is stored locally in your browser or app and never reaches our servers. That includes:
Clearing your browser data or uninstalling the app erases this. If you have no account, we cannot recover it, because we never had it.
Making an account is what turns on backup, and backup means a copy on our servers. If you are signed in, these are stored against your account so a lost phone or a cleared browser does not cost you your progress:
Your username and point total appear on the public leaderboard only if you switch that on yourself in Account. It is off by default, and nothing else about you is shown there.
You can clear your synced exam history from inside the app, and you can ask us to delete your account and everything attached to it by emailing us.
If you contact us: the name, email, and any details you submit. We use it to respond to you, and to send product updates if you asked for them. We do not sell it or share it with advertisers.
If you purchase a subscription: payment is handled by Apple, Google, or our payment processor. We receive confirmation that you have an active subscription. We never see or store your card number.
If you join the email list: the homepage has a form offering study tips, and the app offers the same thing after your free run. If you enter your address there, we store the address, the date, and which of those two places it came from. Nothing else. We use it to send study tips and news about Redline, and we do not sell it, rent it or share it with advertisers. Every message has a working unsubscribe link, and using it removes you immediately.
If you rate or give feedback: about a week after you sign up we email you once asking how Redline is treating you, and the app asks the same question after a run. If you answer, we store the rating you chose, any comment you typed, and which of the two places you answered from, against your email address. We use it to decide what to fix. Comments are read by Redline and are not published anywhere without asking you first.
Email delivery: our email is sent through a third-party email provider, which handles delivery on our behalf and receives the address the message is going to.
Basic site analytics: our host may log standard request data such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited, for security and traffic measurement.
Visit counting: every page, including the app, tells our own server that it was opened. What is recorded is a random identifier your browser generates for itself and which page was opened — nothing else. No IP address, no browser details, no link to your account, and nothing about your studying. The identifier exists only so that someone visiting five times is not counted as five people; it identifies nobody, it is never shared, and clearing your browser storage discards it. This goes to Redline and no one else.
Advertising: our public pages — the homepage, pricing, support, and the sign-up and log-in pages — may load the Meta (Facebook) advertising pixel. It tells Meta that a browser visited those pages, which lets us show ads to people who have looked at Redline and measure whether those ads led to a subscription. It does not receive your name, your email, or anything about your studying.
The pixel is not loaded inside the app itself. The single exception is the page you land on immediately after paying, where it runs once to record that a purchase happened and then plays no further part. Your questions, scores and progress are never sent to any advertiser.
You can limit this in your browser's cookie settings, with any tracker-blocking extension, or in Meta's own ad preferences. Blocking it has no effect on your account or your studying.
Some optional features (custom lessons, deeper explanations, freshly generated question sets) send the topic you tapped to an AI service to generate a response. These requests contain only the study topic and cert involved. They do not include your name, email, or study history. The core app works entirely without these features.
Redline is intended for adults and students in automotive training programs. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
